Northern Exposures Photography is now offering various workshops.
No matter if your just starting out or a seasoned photographer, we have one-on-one training courses to help you advance in various areas of photography.
Each course is designed to narrow in on different aspects and techniques used by the professionals. We will help give you a boost in the right direction through hands on training with your own equipment and help you achieve your photography goals.
Every student will receive a private lesson one on one with Richard Boose (Professional Photographer) in either an indoor or outdoor setting depending on the workshop. Each class will vary in length depending on the skill level required. Courses generally run 1-2 hours of field training or until the instructor feels confident that the student has achieved their personal learning goal from the elected course they are taking.

Booking a workshop is no different then booking a photo session, you request a date that best suits you and we will check our availability before confirming with you. All fees are due at time of booking. Northern Exposures Photography Gift cards can be used towards our photography courses.

LONG EXPOSURE
Professional
Learn to shoot long exposure photography with hands on experience to create those silky waterfalls, rich landscapes or expose the true values of astrophotography and northern lights. This lesson will require a tripod. (Lens filter ND2 up to ND10 and shutter triggers are an asset.)

Intermediate
Macro photography is the art of magnifying small details and is commonly used on plants, flowers and insects. Learn to shoot the details of macro photography using a tripod and a macro lens. Gain hands on experience. We also cover photo stacking and preparation for post production.

Learn how to spot ideal compositions using objects, natural frames or leading lines to control how your photo is perceived by the viewers. Proper composition can be the difference between a regular boring shot and an outstanding one just by where you stand or what you crop in post.

This class is designed to teach beginners simple shooting practices such as rule of thirds, leading lines, bokeh, and other common techniques that will instantly improve your results. I will show you best camera settings for common senerio's we photograph on a daily basis.

This course is designed to get you out of automatic mode and teach you how to manual shoot and take control of your camera. I will teach you how ISO, Aperture, and shutter speed effect your photos, how they work with each other and how to choose between them for your desired results.

In my Lightroom course, I will teach you the very basics of how to use the presets and adjust settings. Learn how to create your own saved presets and how to install native ones. You will learn how to edit more precise without overdoing effects using local brushes and exporting with a logo.
